The Big Apple without seeds is New York City without cars! It is THE one-day event: the famous Five Boro Bike Tour — equivalent of the Tour de l’Île de Montréal —, an early May tradition since 1977. You, your bike, the iconic Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building, and thousands of cyclists happy to have the keys to the city! You leave from the corner of Church and Franklin Streets and ride 68 km through Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn and then - after crossing the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge - Staten Island, where the event winds up in a festive atmosphere. And so that you don’t miss anything in the city that never sleeps, your hotel is located in the heart of Manhattan, in Times Square.

The package includes

  • bike transportation by truck (no boxing required);
  • baggage transportation (one bag per person, 15-kg maximum);

  • registration for the TD Five Boro Bike Tour;

Friday, May 1st
6:15 a.m. - Rendez-vous in Saint-Lambert (Collège Champlain, 900 Riverside Drive). $10 charge for parking your vehicle at the college. Have the exact change on hand. Loading of bicycles into the truck and boarding of participants on the buses.
7 a.m. - Departure of buses and truck.
8:30 a.m. (approx.) - Crossing through Customs. Make sure to have a valid passport, Nexus card or enhanced driver’s license.
Around noon - Meal break on route.
4-4:30 p.m. - Based on the waiting time at Customs, arrival at the hotel situated in the heart of Manhattan, New York. Retrieval of your baggage.

Free day and evening

Sunday, May 3
7-7:30 a.m. - Retrieval of your bicycle and delivery of your baggage in front of the hotel.
7:30 a.m. - Departure for Battery Park in Manhattan (start site).
8 a.m. - Start of Five Boro Bike Tour (approximately 68 km).
2 p.m.-4:30 p.m. - Return from the tour and loading of bicycles into the truck (parking provided at Staten Island). Upon your arrival, you can change in the buses since you will no longer have access to the hotel.
4:30 p.m. - Departure of the buses and truck for Saint-Lambert.
7:30 p.m. (approx.) - Dinner stop.
12-1 a.m. - Arrival at Collège Champlain in Saint-Lambert. Retrieval of your bicycle and baggage.

Our packages include:
  • air transportation for passengers and their bicycles (if necessary), as well as transfer between airport and hotel;
  • bus, train, ferry trip and domestic flight (if necessary);
  • accommodations in two-, three- or four-star hotels, double occupancy;
  • all breakfasts and some evening meals (excluding all beverages, alcoholic or not);
  • baggage transportation (one bag per person: 20-kg maximum with air travel; 15-kg miximum without air travel);
  • mechanical assistance and access to a relief vehicle;
  • daily route plans;
  • the presence of one or two experienced guides;
  • taxes and the $1 contribution per $1,000 of services purchased to the Compensation Fund for Customers of Travel Agents.
Equipment (e.g., bicycle) is not included.

Your package includes air transportation for you and your bicycle for all overseas destinations, as well as a few in the United States. It also includes, once you reach your destination, transfers to and from the airport and hotel. For certain U.S. destinations, your package includes round trip bus transportation, as well as transportation of your bicycle. According to the destination, bus transfers between stopover towns and ferry travel are usually included in your package.

Ground portion: you have the option of purchasing only the ground portion of our trips, which excludes air transportation for you and your bicycle.

Accomodations and Meals
You will have double occupancy accommodations at two-, three- or four-star hotels. Our packages include all breakfasts and certain evening meals, at a restaurant or the hotel. You are free to have lunch where you please.

Baggage Transportation
Day after day, your baggage will be transported to your hotel without you having to worry about a thing. All you need to carry with you is a bag containing the personal items you need for the day.

On the road
Each day, you will start off at your own time and pace. You will be provided with a detailed route map, as well as GPX data for certain departures. Also, optional routes will allow you to extend certain segments.

You can count on the presence of your guide at all times. You can contact the latter by phone to request assistance in getting back on the road in case of a mechanical breakdown. If you are unable to complete the day’s ride, your guide will drive you and your bicycle to the next stopover town.
