Inscribe grandiose on 1000 km of Dantesque landscapes, studded with vestiges of the Middle Ages, and you get the Bordeaux-Madrid route—one of the mythic musts on the CV of athletic cyclists. And with good reason! Just imagine these two weeks: the verdant mountains of Basque Country; the broad Spanish valleys strewn with sun-drenched sierras – Cantabria, Cebollera, Guadarrama; vines clinging to hillsides; the arrival in Segovia taking you back to the time of the Reconquista; and lastly Madrid, where you will have a free day to discover this impressive capital.
